"Stage III Melanoma: Challenges of Treatment: Evan's Story"
"I had to do the chemo everyday, within a half an hour, you would start, the fever would just take off on you, and by the time before I was even home, I was just ready to fall over. The other thing that was so difficult was literally a suicidal depression, and I didn't think that would happen to me being a therapist, but I just believed at one point, that I had just failed everyone, and that I just deserved to die; people would call me to wish me well, and I would just cry, and I just couldn't get through it.
Went through the surgery, and had a drain coming out of my side, we had something called a seroma, which is a patch of fluid, and the seroma got infected, and they immediately admitted me to a hospital, and they told me that there were no more treatments, and that I needed to just wish for the best, and I said, that's just not acceptable."
