Psoriasis & Food Allergies - Nancy's Story

I felt cursed because I was like, why does everybody have beautiful skin and why would I have this.

Hi. My name is Nancy. I'm suffering from psoriasis.

I discovered I had it at approximately 10 years old. I have it all over my elbows and my knees. It's itchy, it's flaky, you don't want people to see it. I was angry because my siblings, two younger sisters and two older brothers don't have it and I have it. I got the gene.

I was treated by a dermatologist then we realized the dermatologist wasn't doing anything but treating me topically with different creams and lotions. And then as I got older I discovered I was allergic to corn syrup and corn syrup is in mostly every type of processed food. When I eliminated it from my diet, I realized that the itching went away.

I realized my sleep was improved since all this. I always thought that, you know, I had sinus issues, and headaches, and migraines, it was none of that, it was all food allergies. So definitely go to an allergist and go often because food allergies change as you, you know, they don't stay the same, they change a lot. A lot of times people think it's dermatological and it's not.
