Ovarian Cysts & Polycystic Ovaries - Crystal's Story: Episode 1 Transcript

I remember 7th grade I had a sudden pain in my stomach that doubled me over. Next thing I knew I was having an ambulance called for me and I was taken to the emergency room at the hospital. They thought I had appendicitis. They sent me up for surgery the next morning. The next thing I knew I was being prepped for surgery, about to be put under anesthesia. My blood work did come back and I didn't have the correct platelets for appendicitis so they delayed surgery and they did more tests on me and they found out that I had an ovarian cyst. At 14 they're telling me that I had ovarian cancer and it was more than likely I'd have to have both of my ovaries removed. I remember my mom like breaking down, like totally just losing it.
