I thought I was just getting old; I thought it was menopausal symptoms, or I just wasn't feeling well.
I'm Sophia, and I have Lyme disease.
A couple weeks ago, I was feeling very tired. I had flu-like symptoms that never developed into a flu, sort of a long-standing cough that never got worse, headaches. I became very concerned when I started to have swelling in my fingers. I couldn't make a fist.
So I went to the physician; made an appointment to get blood work done. A few days later, my doctor called me and told me I was positive for Lyme. I started immediately on a three-week course of antibiotics, Doxycycline. I feel that my - actually, my back pain seems to be a little bit less. I don't know if that's psychological or not, but it seems to be a little bit less. I'm glad that I have antibiotics to take; I know they'll do the trick, and I'll be fine. I know I will.
