Don't Ignore Your Symptoms

"It may be a urinary tract infection, but it may be a sign of bladder cancer. So if something bothers you, contact somebody." Dr. Vaughan of New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center urges people to get themselves checked out by a urologist for even the mildest urologic discomfort. Dr. Vaughan warns how the slightest pain could be a sign of a serious urologic disease.

Don't Ignore Your Symptoms

I think the early message is, if it bothers you, call your doctor, ask the question.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, a little knowledge is also good. One needs to act on that knowledge and I would think the first message is even if you don't think it's important don't judge that yourself. Like any blood in the urine requires evaluation. It may be absolutely nothing, or it may be something important. A little burning and stinging may be a urinary tract infection, or urgency, going to the bathroom frequently, may be a urinary tract infection, but it may be a sign of bladder cancer. So if something bothers you, contact someone.
