Depression Series: Deciding when Antidepressants Could Help Transcript

"Deciding When Antidepressants Could Help" Dr. Fieve: "Treatment for depression is for people that have pain, they don't function. For people that have interruption with their life's career. And those are the ones that I think should get help, the rest of them are on the borderline, maybe talking to a friend, talking to a therapist, going to a health food store, I'm all for it, try it, but if the depression persists and goes on, month after month, I think you oughta give the possibility that maybe there's a biochemical factor involved here. And three weeks on antidepressants might make the difference; I think you oughta try it."
