Depression & Panic Attacks - Jennifer's Story Transcript

My name is Jennifer. I'm 26 years old, and I've suffered from depression since I was about 13. Some days I would not go to school. I would sleep in. I wouldn't do anything. I didn't feel like doing anything. Wouldn't shower, do my hair, or anything. It got to a point where I started getting panic attacks. As I got older, I was able to control it more. Seen therapists here and there. Never really consistent, cause I never had insurance. So that's another issue. I have taken medication before. I don't think its something for me. I don't, I wouldn't take it everyday, because I feel like I felt a difference, but its not that big of a difference that I would take it. So for me, I just like to work through it. What doesn't work is when I don't talk about it. I have to talk about it. I have to say something to somebody, or I have to write it done or something. I feel like as long as I keep myself busy with different things, whether it be listening to music or reading a book or taking a walk. Actually walking and exercising really helps me. If you are suffering from depression, definitely talk to somebody about it. Don't suffer in silence. Anybody will listen, and your not the only one. There's tons of people that are going through the same thing.
