Depression & Alternative Treatment - Vicky's Story Transcript

Vicky: "Hi. I'm Vicky. I'm 23 years old and I've suffered from depression since I was about 15. I stopped eating. I stopped sleeping. I was very anxious. I couldn't concentrate on anything. I lost interest in everything I was interested before, and basically like the life and the energy was just completely zapped out of me. And over time, they symptoms evolved. So I did go into therapy pretty soon after that. I think most recently, the most important revelation I had was this idea that I had a lot do with what I was experiencing. The initial stages of depression really felt like things were happening to me. That I didn't have control over anything, but over time I was able to observed what I had experienced more objectively and see what I was contributing to what I was going through. I realized that it was more than just the psyche. It involved the body as well. So lately I've taken steps to reconnect the body and the mind. Network spinal analysis is very different from regular chiropractic care. When you hear chiropractor, you usually think of your back being cracked and adjusted in that sense, but in network spinal analysis it involves really light touches to different parts of the back and spinal cord and the body, which then stimulate the brain and allow it to reconnect to the spinal cord. On top of that, it allows the body and the spinal cord to unwind and release all that tension and pain. Before I was always under the impression that depression isn't curable, its something that I will have to deal with for the rest of my life and just learn how to manage it better, but now I realize it is a curable thing. It's just a matter of how you approach it, and interestingly enough I think depression was a good thing for me, because it shifted my focus and my life to incorporate the pieces that really matter in order to be healthy and live a productive and happy life."
