Birth Control - Jessica's Story Transcript

When I was 15-16 years old, I decided to take Yasmin to regulate my period, and also because I had a boyfriend so I didn't want to get pregnant. My name is Jessica and I'm from Long Island, New York. So I was taking this pill for at least about -I want to say two, three years of my life. And I've noticed my mood was erratic and all over the place; sometimes I would get really emotional to the extreme. It was affecting a lot of my weight, so I would be either -one month I would be five pounds more than usual. It also affected me on my relationship with my parents, friends, family, boyfriends because it was just so erratic that my hormone levels would just bring either me really, really excited or really, really below it, off that balance. So I recently stopped taking it, at least a year I've been off Yasmin, and I notice that my mood is a lot better, my emotions are a lot better, everything's a lot more controlled because of the hormones, and I also decided to stop taking it because I knew that birth control had a lot of side effect, like blood clots. It's a lot better to live without birth control. If you really don't need to be on it, then I suggest you just stay away from it because it does affect your body.
