Asthmatic Bronchitis (COPD): Joanne's Story

Hi. My name is Joanne, from Edison, New Jersey, and I have asthmatic bronchitis.

The past few years, I've been working at a daycare center. The kids over there are small, usually coughing, sneezing in your faces. They're too small to know, you know, to cover up their faces. And I've actually gotten a few cases of severe bronchitis throughout the years.

As I said, I've been pretty healthy, but it got to the point where it was pretty bad, so I had to go to the doctors. They prescribed me some inhalers like Proventil, and Advair. So I took that for a few times, but unfortunately, it kept on coming back.

And about the fourth time it came back, I came down with asthmatic bronchitis, which I was pretty upset about. I used to be into strenuous sports; running, soccer, and it's gotten a lot harder to do those things that I used to enjoy.

If I knew somebody with the symptoms that I had, or asthmatic bronchitis, I would suggest them to go to the doctor, get themselves checked out, possibly get a chest X-ray, and to take care of yourself in general.
