About a year a year ago, I was going for a walk to the school and I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do. Hi. My name's Heather. I'm from New York and I'm 22 years old. Between my family pressuring me to figure out what to do, time to really come down to a decision, so I started having panic attacks and the panic attacks led to really deep anxiety and during the panic attacks I would sweat really bad and shake. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep for hours. And after a while, it got so bad that I started talking to my mom. I would cry like every single day, and it lead to actually finding out that I had depression. My mom decided that we were going to send me to a therapist to go get help. Although it was okay, I felt that when I went to the doctor and told her that I was still having it after 5 months of therapy, the medication I was on, they put me on Paxil. After a while on Paxil, I got a lot better. I haven't suffered from any anxiety lately. I've been on the right course trying to figure out what I'm going to do, although I haven't figured it out yet. My parents are very supportive. I'm lucky to have family and friends that would support me if anything ever did happen to me.
